My wife has been dead now for a little over a month. I still miss her terribly, and I am frustrated, sometimes maddeningly so, at how difficult simple things have become.
I need to drive to work in a new snowfall. No problem, she won't want to go out, so I'll take her all-wheel Subaru. But the accident that killed her totaled it.
I now have to replace the dishwasher because it's leaking all over the kitchen floor, and the microwave because it's doing everything except heating, which means the whatsit is broken and I may as well just buy a new one. No problem, we'll shop for sensible replacements, then she'll stay home to wait for the installers. Wrong.
